Melody Pohla
is a designer who cares about big ideas.

Thinker, do-er, way-too-much coffee drinker. Thought designer, art creator, super-awesome woman leader.

I am a designer and I care about education, women leadership, and connecting with people. People inspire me and I keep them at the core of my practice. Growing up online has shown me that the networks we build in person and on the internet are the sole driving force of true impact, creative ideas, and the need for GIFs.

Currently working as a contract Marketing Co-ordinator and designer, I’ve previously worked as a creative director at a small package design company and both assisted and led social media campaigns, traditional fundraisers, brand identity systems, and marketing campaigns.

While not working, I’m involved in the AIGA Chicago Mentorship committee doing some rad social media stuff, ISH (Illustration Society Here), and student mentoring via Flashpoint Chicago. I go to panels, talks, and try to get coffee with every cool person I know.

I do other things besides design, such as:

  • Sewing my own handmade wardrobe

  • Hand lettering interesting phrases

  • Woodburning plaques and cutting boards

  • Cooking with said cutting boards

  • Plotting how my next apartment will be decorated

  • Solving paradoxes

  • Shaving my head for charity

Proud member of the Chicago chapter of the AIGA.  Proud alumni + class of 2018 valedictorian of Flashpoint Chicago.  Proud supporter of SheSays.
